Back I go!

Woohoo! I get to go back to the gym tomorrow!

I can't get straight back into the hardcore stuff obviously, BUT I can go in and do bulk weights, which is a great start and as the knee strengthens I can go back to cardio too!

I. Am. So. EXCITED!!!

And further

The knee is healing up well enough, I plan on asking the physio tonight what my first course of action is for me to get on with working out...think of me..

Oh, probably worth a mention, I again, cause I do nothing normally, got myself two deep vein thrombosis, in my calf. I am stoked. NOT!

SO I am on anticoagulation medication to prevent issues there, and it inhibits my return to fun stuff in some ways.

Weight loss is non existant.. yes, even the zealots hit walls, and mine is currently a HUGE wall, that I am finding it difficult to climb over... annoying to say the least and I am hoping that the increase in cardio based exercise, which I think will be walking in the water, or perhaps on land, will see a change...

Fingers crossed for some good news at the physio!!

A few things

Surgery has been completed and I am now the proud owner of a prosthetic ACL ligament. In my usual style, nothing is ever simple, so of course I had to make a routine knee reconstruction WAY more interesting by passing out and busting open my own stitches! I also bruised my hand really bad, and there was a time there was thinking there may be breaks! Go me!

I am fairly immobile still. :( Oh pout. I desperately wanted to be off crutches by Sunday last week. Well, it is only today I got the balls to give crutch free walking a go. I am not loving it, but I hate crutches more, so we'll see how we go with that.

The hand is BADLY bruised.

Physio is intense and a tad painful. I had my first session Monday and go back again Wednesday, and Friday as well as fitting in the surgeon Thursday. Hectic week.

I can't drive, and it sends me crackers, I am relying on family and friends to get me around and to get Bean to school for me... I am lucky to have people who will help!

I am frustrated that I am unfit... the lack of exercise is a kind of torture, and I feel sluggish, tired, and fat. Food is needing tweaking, as I am bored and we all know what boredom eating does... bad things.

I am spending too much time on the net... which is a bad thing, because my brain cells are rotting in my head and my eyes are boggling at reading small text on a little laptop...

So I am super bored, frustrated and quite frankly, going insane!

HELP ME!

Friday, 31 July 2009

Surgery date is set.

For the 20th of August, so 20 days away.. not that I am counting or eager to get it fixed!

I have opted for a less than traditional repair. As a general rule, the surgeon uses a hamstgring graft, but I don't want a dodgy hammy, so I have decided to use a prosthetic graft for my ACl called a LARS.

It has a quicker recovery time, better healing, and is stronger than the hammy!

Woohoo!

So when that is in, I should be up and moving quicker than 9 months, as this doesn't require two sites healing, and based on the AFl player who had it done he was back on the field in 3 months, 3 MONTHS!

In other news, I have decided, despite the knee, I am going to begin training clients. If I don't start now, I will lose confidence and I want to get my business started!

So if you live near me in Sydney, and want a commited and professional trainer, drop me a line!

The verdict is in...

And it is not good news. Well on one hand it is good news. I haven't ruptured my PCL! WOOHOO!

I have however, ruptured my ACl, so knee surgery for me. Oh JOy. NOT!

I am looking at a fairly long rehabilitation apparently, up to 6 months, so I am a bit down about that but I will get through I suppose.

If anyone out there reading has had this done, drop me a line in my comments to reassure me!

Wow, sorry!

Goodness, it has been a long time hasn't it?

I am still having issues with not being able to view blogs, with this weird operation aborted message. Not just on my pc at home but at work too.

So anyway, in news, I completed TAFE, finally!
I checked my results online and it appears I passed, and not only passed but for all graded subjects, (not just the competent / Not yet competent ones) I got distinctions!

SO watch out world here I come.

In several weeks.

Because...

I have done something to my right knee. At netball.

The physio ( because, folks, it is important to check these things out) thinks I may have damaged my posterior cruciate ligament. This is NOT good news.

I currently am in a thigh to ankle knee brace thing, and tomorrow I am off to see a sports physician to begin the process of finding out the complete injury, and am hoping that it is nothing really serious and that time and rehab will heal it!

Because if that isn't the case, I am not only unable to train myself, but unable to train clients too, and I have people waiting to go!

And real paying clients too, not just my sister who cooks me dinner!

SO fingers crossed for me please, that nothing super problematic is wrong and it heals nicely, so I can go back to training, and netball!

I'll update you all when I know the outcome!

Holy crap!

it's been over a month since I last blogged.

Some of that isn't entirely my fault, for a while there, blogger kept booting me out... frustrating plus!

And I am also busy with a new job, plus nearly finihsing TAFE. Currently I have 5 classes until I am done!

WOO FUCKING HOO!

I am sick but that is sort of not too bad, cause it let me get my assignments finished, but is sucks because I hurt a lot, and feel rotten.

In two weeks I will be back to the gym and into my nomral routine.. can you call something routine if you haven't done it for nearly a year?

It's do delightful

I am back in the gym, five days a week, and I am loving it!

I have been able to go obviously, as I am not working, but also stopped doing placement hours, so the time i was going and doing nothing but training others has finished too.

I am working on my cardiovascular fitness, which needs improving. I know I say I am unfit, and I am not, but I am not as fit as I was, which was sad to realise.

I also have been getting DOMS another indicator in my mind that I am not in as good condition as I have previously been.

And another funny thing... since being back in the gym, my eating has become way more clean!

I wasn't eating totally appallingly, but it certainly wasn't as great as it could be... and now it is supreme again!

I have been cooking up a storm, soups mainly and freezing them, for lunches and TAFE dinners, and it is wonderful having fresh food ready to just be thawed out and eaten.
Most in my class are envious of my soups and I must say that they are really good.

A great low fat, filling meal option and this weather makes it even more appealing!

Today I am off to do a spin class. Some of you might remember I passed out on the bike last time I did a class, however, this time I know what to do and I am going to get it done, an added bonus is I don't take BP meds anymore, so that should stop dizziness too.

Wish me luck for a successful class!

You'd think...

Since I don't have a job anymore, i would have more time to blog!

Well, it appears I don't!

I am in a quandry.
I applied for work before I even finished my old job, cause that is what you do y'know?
But now, M and I have decided we think it's best I be at home for a little bit, until at least TAFE finishes.

However, I got offered a job, and the pessimist in me says "TAKE IT, TAKE IT YOU FUKCINF FOOL, CAUSE NO ONE ELSE WILL WANT YOU!"

However, seeing as we decided I should be a SAHM for a while I am torn.

The money is a bonus, and only a bonus, it gives us money to play with, not live from.

M thinks I shouldn't take it, and just finish TAFE, then get work, since I have proven I can do it really easily, but I worry that with the current job front that if I don't take this job, when TAFE does end I won't be able to find anything cause it will be a shit storm out there.

So what to do?

Theother selfish side of me, sees this as a great opportunity to work on my fitness so I can try to get work in the area I want and at least be able to do it! rather then now, where I would die, a slow painful death...

Oh help!
